The Space

The perfect space for a cosy couple or small family getaway. Once a tannery built in the 1850’s and part of a cluster of victorian industrial buildings on the edge of the River Aeron this building has been changed many times over the decades. We took the building on in 2019 and renovated it throughout to create a quirky, colourful and fun one-of-a-kind 2 bedroom cottage with riverside courtyard garden.

The River Perch is hidden away in a residential area, very private, but right in the centre of the beautiful harbour town of Aberaeron. Everything is within a couple of minutes walking distance so you can dine at the Harbourmaster Hotel, explore the Coastal Path and beaches, stroll around the harbour or take the cycle path to Llanerchaeron National Trust.

What People Are Saying

The River Perch is an absolutely beautiful cottage in an idyllic location.

“Our children loved it here as much as us (with tears when we said it was time to leave) We have stayed in several Airbnb properties and this has to be our absolute favourite by far we will definitely be back.”

— Emily, UK

We loved our stay at the River Perch.

“Right in the centre of Aberaeron but tucked away and peaceful, we loved watching the river go by. It is compact but really cleverly designed. With the mezzanine reading nook and several other living spaces, our family of four were able to spread out (more so than we can at home!”

— Nathan, UK

A great stay which exceeded expectations.

“The cottage was just as described, but photographs cannot do justice to the full charm of this riverside location - the sound of cascading water, the sight of the heron making his morning catch, and the antics of the squabbling drakes and bobbing ducklings. All within a few steps of the shops and restaurants of Aberaeron.”
